The mask was matched to Getty Image 488899550, 1996 World Cup warm-up session. Crafted by renowned mask maker, Ed Cubberly. With Richter's standout performances, including MVP honors, a gold medal win and an impressive 923 save percentage, this red, white and blue goalie mask embodies the spirit of American hockey triumph, as United States shocked the hockey world by defeating Canada in the championship series of the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, winning the deciding game of the best-of-3 series 5-2 in Montreal on Sept. 14, 1996.

Mike Richter is considered one of the best and most iconic American born goalie to have played the game. He played his entire National Hockey League career, from 1989 to 2002, with the New York Rangers organization, and led the team to the Stanley Cup in 1994. He also represented the United States in international play on several occasions. Richter was named to the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.
