This entitled "Uncle Sam" goalie mask was Game Worn by Olaf Kolzig of the Washington Capitals from the 1993 to the 1995 season. Ed Cubberly was the original maker and artistic visionnaire of this mask, which comes directly from his personal collection. The mask sports the famous "C"s on each sides and shows extreme signs of game wear. Olaf Kolzig gave the mask back to Cubberly after it was used. Initially in 1993, the artwork of Uncle Sam was smaller, and subsequently it was repainted to be wider in the following seasons. The mask has been photomatched many times and is accompanied by a signed Letter of Authenticity from Ed Cubberly himself. A true piece of Washington Capitals goaltending history.
