HISTORY:
Chris Funkey, born March 16, 1994, in Orland Park, Illinois, is a former collegiate goaltender who played for the Penn State Nittany Lions from 2015 to 2019. Standing at 5'10" and weighing 174 lbs, Funkey was known for his athleticism and competitive spirit. Before joining Penn State, he had a successful junior career with the New Jersey Hitmen, leading them to two league championships and earning recognition as a premier goaltender in the USPHL. At Penn State, Funkey served as a reliable backup, making his debut in the 2015–16 season and contributing to the team's depth in goal. His dedication and team-first attitude made him a respected member of the Nittany Lions throughout his collegiate career.
